Under the heading "Bad is the new Good!"
I'm Shawn, originally from California (Santa Cruz!) Spent many years in Nevada, and recently moved to Florida. My mother was excellent in making blankets, childrens dresses, doll dresses, etc., and I have many things that she left behind for me after she passed about ten years ago.

I was the CEO of a large child abuse & neglect "child care agency" (long term clinical treatment)... and then, after closing that, I opened a PI Agency in Florida. In addition to being the past President of the Florida Association of Private Investigators (http://www.myfapi.org/),

I own a PI Agency serving Central Florida, as well a Process Serving from Orlando, Lakeland, and into Tampa. Actually, we cover the entire area for Process Service. We do a lot more than what you might expect. Being a PI is more than what you see on TV.

I have been involved with SOFL (Special Olympics Florida) and other various not-for-profit organization in California, Nevada, and Florida. I really enjoy sharing my time, engery, resources with those who really need it. It feels good to share and give (or participate as you can in that process.) 

I am new to quilting, but I'm catching on fast. I already made two pillows and a unique special 'neck pillow' from a favorite shirt of someone.  I'll have to post a photo of that soon. It's kinda cool, actually. I think everyone loves quilts, be it men, women, kids, teens, you name it.  You can't go to a quilt show and not fall head over heals in the work that is done.  I hope that I can someday make a great quilt like so many of you.

Finally, I think that quilters have a great sense of passion, or personality, and know the value of making something that takes time. Anyone, male or female, who shows such dedication and love, and puts that much effort into something... well... they are very much worth getting to know! Thank You!
