February’s Coffee Recipes

It’s still pretty cold in most of the country and those February guild meetings and social gatherings call for something special.  This recipe uses honey as a natural sweetener and each variety of honey gives the coffee a different flavor.  Also, try this with your favorite specialty blend coffee.

Café Con Miel

2 cups hot coffee
½ cup milk or cream
4 tablespoons honey
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon

Heat everything until warm but not boiling.  Stir well to dissolve the honey and serve.  Makes 3-4 servings.

If you’d like something a little more decadent for a Valentine’s Day treat, here’s a recipe for a coffee cocktail with a little zing!

Chocolate Hazelnut Coffee Cocktail

10 ounces of hot brewed coffee
1 ounce of chocolate liqueur
1 ounce of hazelnut liqueur
Sweetener to taste

Mix all ingredients and serve in a warm cocktail or wine glass.  Of course, other liqueur flavors may be substituted…experiment all you like!  Makes 1 serving.
