I certainly can understand what it is to have to drive 2 1/2 hrs to the nearest shopping area. I too live in a VERY rural area and have to drive 125 miles in either direction to get to a shopping area. So, I just plan ahead and then it is a race when I get into town for shopping. Making shopping lists are a must have Sometimes us quilting gals get together and have a quilt shop drop day....we map out our stops and allow a certain amount of time at each stop, that way we get more place to go to and see more stuff. I have several of my favorite shops that have wonderful prices (much lower than in the stores around here) even with the shipping figured into the total...it is usually less money. And now with the horrid prices on fuel it seems to be the way to go. Alot of the time, when I am in a quilt shop, I will look and do my 'fix' of fondeling the fabrics....then go on line and purchase them at a lower price! First time to join a blog too. by luvtosew 2 Years, 5 Months ago I just bought two sewing machines off the internet Ken's sew and vac out of AL, another group Im on we buy alot of his embroider threads etc, anyway I needed a regular sewing machine plus wanted one just for my quilting frame, I did alot of checking in town Olympia,the same machine I got from Ken for 599.00 they wanted 1000.00, its a Janome 1600P for the quilting frame, than I also bought the Janome Sew Percise regular 499 for 249.00 plus I got the walking foot, quarter inch foot and couple pks of needles all for 947.00 so Im a very happy camper ,they paid for shipping I should have my new toys by the 16th can't wait Lynda The administrator has disabled public write access. | Report to moderator   Logged   Jessica (User) Gold Boarder Posts: 247 Karma: 4   Re:Hi Im new.
