Hotrod...

I certainly can understand what it is to have to drive 2 1/2 hrs to the nearest shopping area. I too live in a VERY rural area and have to drive 125 miles in either direction to get to a shopping area. So, I just plan ahead and then it is a race when I get into town for shopping. Making shopping lists are a must have

Sometimes us quilting gals get together and have a quilt shop drop day....we map out our stops and allow a certain amount of time at each stop, that way we get more place to go to and see more stuff. Problem is the trunk is never large enough for all the goodies purchased

I am soooo lucky, I live in the middle of nowhere and have a tiny quilt shop just a few miles away. Go figure!

Yes but isnt it nice to have a pc,get on the internet to all the fabric shops available, and shop to your hearts content.?I also do the fab shop hops and find more new shops. Have any or you done these. I love to hop. There is one on now if you dont. Please try it. Go to www.fabshophop.com. It is a great way to see all the new stuff and also compare and shop for a good price. More later. Jo

I think I actually surf to much on the internet, its to easy to order but with the price of gas I find that I do more shopping that way and have it delivered to me
I have antique buttons from my grand grandmother which I probably won't ever use but I have used the buttons from grandma in a crazy quilt

I do most of my fabric shopping on the internet. I have several of my favorite shops that have wonderful prices (much lower than in the stores around here) even with the shipping figured into the total...it is usually less money. And now with the horrid prices on fuel it seems to be the way to go. Alot of the time, when I am in a quilt shop, I will look and do my 'fix' of fondeling the fabrics....then go on line and purchase them at a lower price!

I know what you mean. I also have buttons from my Mom and her sister. I use them for embellishments on crazy quilts too. My grand-daughters also like to go thru them and pick out ones to put on their clothes that I make them.Jo
