Hi Arlene!

It is so nice to "speak" to you here in this forum! Hope to "see" you here more! Just ordered a couple of your books so I can become a true fan! Are you planning any promotional tours?

What are you working on right now, story-wise or quilt/knitting-wise?

Best wishes, Willow
(who daytimes as a librarian to get money for quilting)

Arlene,
Oh, How nice to meet you here. So glad you are a part of our "little" blog. We do enjoy it. I second Willow's questions. Let us know if you have more things in the works.

In a good book, I always like a little mystery, a little romance, a little of past and present coming together. I love it when quilting or some type of needle work fits into the daily lives of the people.

I like it when the characters are working through struggles...and dealing with them successfully....I tink we all see enough of the opposite. Maybe there are some local legends about a family or house in your area and you could write your own take on the stories.I love it when people use historical fiction.
I am like Willow....I am a seamtress and quilter that poses as a teacher and coach to get money to feed my habit and my daughter's habit. (she is a knitter)

Hi,
As for what I'm doing - right now is pretty chaotic - My newest book, Quilter's Knot had its printing delayed by Sarah Palin's biography (without warning) so I just got books last weekend. Today and yesterday I was at a quilt store event signing books. Next week I have a quilt store event and then a three day big quilt show at the Portland Expo center. After that, I have a week to get my stuff shipped to Texas, where I will stay with my husband's sister and do some book events and then go to Quilt Market, in Houston with the StoryQuilts people and then Quilt Festival, where I will take classes and sign books.
As far as knitting - I teach a couple of ongoing knitting groups in the small town of Tillamook (maybe you've had Tillamook Cheese? the #2 hard cheese in America?) Anyway, we are knitting toe up socks, and a few people are still working on top down raglan sleeve sweaters. I'm also making chemo caps for my best friends husband who needs them. In between that, I'm making baby things for my soon to arrive granddaughter. . . knitting and sewing. . .
Quiltwise, the group I belong to is doing a sawtooth star exchange to kick off the start of our sawtooth star quilts. The blocks are 5 inch, so we have to make a million of them for a full sized quilt. I'm also starting to think of what I will do for the next mystery novel. I draw then make the quilt that is around the border on the front covers of my books. I also give out the pattern at my signings. . . .
I'm working on the third book in the Harriet Truman series, and the fourth story for the 'Seams Like' StoryQuilts series.
All I can say is it's a good thing I have such a capable feline helper (the talented Lydia).
Thanks for buying my book, too!
Arlene

Wow, you are busy...that is great though.
Actually, when I have read our blogs...we are all busy....we all have families, if not int he house...over the country or the world. I think that is why I like ot read about quilters and knitters who can have a life and still have time to do the things they love. Thanks for all you do! You are an inpiration to us!!!

Just finished Arlene's book "Quilter's Knot" I liked it very much! Written as only a quilter could, the quilting is so integral to the plot. Quilting terms and the quilter's psychological makeup are so seamless integrated into the tale. Thanks Arlene for the fun read!

Thank you so much for reading my book! Writers like me depend on readers (and quilters) like you to read our books and then help spread the word. Your endorsement on the forum is very generous and I appreciate it.
Thanks,
Arlene

You Bad Girls have all given me lots of new titles and authors to put on my "must read" list. I just finished Old Maid's Puzzle by Terri Thayer and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a quilting mystery.

Hey All, Is anyone still reading?
According to Amazon.com there's a book coming out written in the style of Arlene's "Loose Threads' series: THE DRUNKARD'S PATH by Clare O'Donohue.

If anyone reads it, let me know how you like it and how it stacks up to QUILTER'S KNOT by Arlene Sachitano, as I love Arlene's work!
