Me too! Loved the movie, although movies never do justice to the stories. Thanks for catching my mispelling of Ms. Mccrumb's first name. I liked THE BALLAD OF FRANKIE SILVER

Willow,
That is why I really want to read the book....I thought the movie was great and when I found the book I know that I will love it.

I will look up the title you gave me this weekend when I go to the library.

Arlene Sachitano can't be found in my local public library. I did find her website and will order an interlibrary loan to get her books. Thanks!

Nothing’s What it Seams
Seams Like Halloween
Seams Like Murder
Quilt as Desired

She writes mysteries! Of course! Nice twist on the reading of these tales is that http://www.storyquilts.com/ features her stories by making quilt kits to go along with the stories. I haven't done any her book quilts, but I did one based on an environmental awareness story from them "Woodland Spirits," and I liked it alot.

I know who you are talking about....I have been on that site many times. I have looked around quite a bit....I haven't purchased anything as yet. I am glad you mentioned her...I want to read some of her stuff. I have admired her story quilts and want to do a couple of them....
I think that I should buy one of her story quilt kits for this winter.

You Bad Girls keep coming up with the most amazing information! I've never heard of some of these authors/books but they sound great! I'm going to make a list for that day in the future when I actually have time to read again...one of my true loves.

I felt that Winding Ways was a book about how the quilters came to the retreat. I liked the more in depth coverage of the characters...but I will say that I have enjoyed some of her other books more. I do like the way that she winds quilting in around eachof the characters lives. I like the way that it shows how women deal with their lives and do something (like quilting) that they love. I guess one could write about gardeners the same way. But I like quilts...

Another plus for enjoying books about quilting...it makes it easier for people to buy gifts for you. My mother and children always ask what I have been reading ...they like to buy books for me and my husband for winer reading.

Hi,
I just wanted to say it was very exciting to "hear" people talking about my books! As someone pointed out - The Seams Like series of stories are connected to Block of the Month subscription programs at Storyquilts.com - Quilt as Desired is my first quilt mystery novel. When Storyquilts first asked me to write a story for them, I was at my own quilt groups weekly meeting. As soon as the Storyquilts owner left the room, they all jumped in and told me what they wanted in a good quilt story - the characters should be quilters, quilt should figure into the story, etc. I've tried to do that in QAD and also in the new sequel - Quilter' Knot. I'm very interested in hearing what people like in a quilt mystery. . . either here or you can e-mail me at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it if you don't want to tell in public.
I am a reader as well as a writer and although I've fallen behind on the Elm Creek series, I read everything in the Queen Bee's series, including the fourth one which was written by a different author.
Thanks for reading my books!
Arlene Sachitano
