Okay all you chicken/rooster lovers...here is a new swap!

We've received permission from the talented Sindy Rodenmayer of Fat Cat Patterns to use her adorable chicken/rooster designs for a block swap.

Here's what I'm proposing:

We limit the participation to 20 quilters. Each quilter will choose one of ten patterns and make 20 blocks, keeping one for him/herself and sending the other 19 to the other participants.

The blocks are 12-1/2" in size and each quilter should use a neutral background such as white, beige, cream, tan, etc. I found an adorable beige that has a chicken wire design. The chicken/rooster parts can be any color you wish.

If you choose raw-edge applique, please complete with a satin or applique stitch around each piece. If you turn under the edges, remember to add 1/4" seam allowance. Please do not sign these blocks.

Deadline for mailing blocks is October 15 so you have plenty of time. You'll also then have time to turn your beautiful blocks into holiday gifts.

Also, I'm requesting that when you send me my block, you include $1 so that we can make a donation to Fat Cat Patterns for using her designs.

No, you don't need to order the pattern from Fat Cat Patterns. Sindy kindly posts the patterns on her website and just asks for donations...which I think is mighty generous of her! That's why I asked each person to include $1 (or more if you like!) when you send my block to me and I will forward the entire donation on to her.

It is generous of her and it will sure work for me. I just found some fabric for background with chicken wire design and some with eggs...how cute!!! This will be fun!!

I checked out her website while printing off the pattern for my block...her designs are cute and she is creastive....it is a nice resource for a quilter and especially if one enjoys or needs some applique patterns.
