Well, I did a water color medium wall hanging. I bought a bunch of 2 1/2" sqs that were made for water color quilts when they first came out and were so popular. Unfortunately, the shop I bought the sqs from, is no longer in business.
I made the wall hanging a mountain looking theme and then sillouetted a full bodied Buck standing on a rock cliff, on top of the watercolor... using the water color as background. It turned out nice. Did take a long time to sew everything together and make sure you didn't get something turned wrong.
I then used the left over sqs for the front of a vest. Put the light colored sqs up around the shoulder and graduated the color on down the the bottom of the vest. I only had enough to do the front sides. I also sillouetted animals around the bottom of the vest. It turned out nice too.
I have made several full sized or larger, bed quilts with the watercolor Irish chain. I love the design and it looks so nice on a bed. Plus there are wonderful areas to do great quilting. It is not hard to do these quilts...all strip peicing... and fun to pick out the colors
